List Of Deities

This is by no means a complete list. The Celtic Pantheon is quite extensive.

Aine (F): Faery goddess of love and desire. As such, a little flighty but fun loving and very sexual. Her Messengers are usually peace makers.

Andrasta (F): Warrior goddess of the Iceni tribe (and the Iceni pack), accepts tributes of hares. Was invoked by the Human Iceni Queen, Boadicca, before her battle with the Romans. Because of her love of battle, she is good friends with Morrigan. Her Messengers are usually warriors.

Arawn (M): God of the Underworld (Annwn) in charge of capturing souls. Has a soft spot for canines of any kind and is generally a nice guy. His Messengers carry a lot of soul powers and can call upon the dead for aid.

Arianrhod (F): Goddess of the moon and sky. Has a thing for speaking in riddles and being very mysterious. Her Messengers are often Seers.

Beli (M): A sun god, very hot headed and butts heads with his father Belenus. Arianrhod is his daughter. His Messengers have a knack for minor fire powers and to help things grow.

Belenus (M): Fire god who goes by Djin, associated with Beltane. Goofy and fond of drinking and women, Belenus is as unpredictable as flame itself. His Messengers are powerful in fire based abilities.

Bran (M): Cauldran god who watches over the cauldren of regeneration. His is considered the Master of Britian and as such, has a bit of an ego. His Messengers are good with minor healing and containment.

Branwen (F): Bran’s sister, was once married to a Thuatha king of Ireland. Quiet and demure, she is the poster child for a courtly lady. She very rarely has Messengers as she doesn’t really do much as a goddess.

Brigit (F): Goddess of creativity and motherhood, Brigit is kind and very wise. Her Messengers are able to change the form of objects and can calm others with just a touch.

Carlin (M): Harvest god, associated with Samhain. Carlin has an affinity for the end of things and a good party. His Messengers can take energy from plants and use it on others as well as age food quickly.

Ceridwen (F): Cauldren goddess and brewer of the potion of knowledge. Ceridwen is a motherly figure, offering knowledge to those who worship her. Her Messengers make good scouts, information gathers, and occasionally have Second Sight.

Cernunnos (M): Horned god of the Wild Hunt and lord of the natural world. Cernunnos loves any kind of quest or chase, but tends to be a little hyperactive. His Messengers are excellent trackers and pick up languages quickly.

Conn (M): A common wolf god, usually doesn’t have Messengers but is revered among the wolves.

Daghda (M): Head god, father of many of the others. He is tricky, loves a good joke, but tends to not interact much with the mortal world. His Messengers don’t ever seem to have specific powers but they are usually the Head Messengers in Tara.

Dioncecht (M): God of healing. Kind and generous, Dioncecht’s Messengers make amazing healers.

Donn (M): God of the Underworld (Annwn) and of the dead. He is solemn and by the rules, expecting all other to be the same. His Messengers are few and far between but they often have powers over the dead.

Epona (F): Goddess of rulership and sovereignty, Epona is not only by the book, she wrote the book. Strict but with a soft side for children. Epona’s Messengers can control other well, through use of their minds and their powers.

Eriu (F): Mistress of Ireland, like Bran. She is strong, loving, and powerful. Most of the Messengers look to her for safety in their journeys.

Flidais (F): A female version of Cernunnos, the two gods make a wild pair.

Ler (M): A sea god, whose personality is as changing as the seas. He is normally a very cold and distant god, but can open up to the right kind of person. His Messengers have strong powers over water.

Lugh (M): Head sun god, associated with Lughnasadh, or Lammas. He is good with communication among different peoples and is associated with the harvest. He is said to have been the son of a Thuatha and through his deeds, became a god. His Messengers can do many things with their voices and can steal the powers of other creatures.

Maeve (F): Head goddess of Tara, Maeve is one of the favoured goddesses of the Messengers. As such, she rarely has specific Messengers of her own.

Math (M): Premier sage of magic, knowledge, and reckoning. Math is a little scatter-brained and eccentric. His Messengers tend to be very similar, good with magic, knowledge, and foresight but not so good at controlling it.

Morrigan (F): Triple war goddess with a fondness for gore, chaos, and battle frenzy. Morrigan is very egotistic, clever, and considered to be one of the most beautiful of the gods. She has a very short temper and a foul mouth. Her Messengers are spectacular warriors with a tendency to be berserkers.

Oghma (M): God of knowledge and eloquence, Oghma likes to talk about anything and everything. A friend to most of the gods, he can be very shy but makes a good backup. Oghma’s Messengers have an amazing knack for language and are good with puzzles.

Rhiannon (F): Goddess of the forest and motherhood, she is very much the “Mother Earth” figure. Her Messengers are skilled with all earth powers.

Rosmerta (F): Goddess of prosperity and success, Rosmerta is “Lady Luck.” Her Messengers can increase the chance of success in battle and in dealings with others and make good back-ups.

Scathach (F): Lady of Shadows, goddess of love, war, and vision. She is often vague and mysterious, tending to stick to the sidelines and watch rather than jump in herself. Her Messengers are very similar and often don’t spend time in Tara, preferring to spend time by themselves as too much time around others can drive them a little mad.
